Floor Repair | Dallas-Fort Worth
Fix the boards that need it, keep the floor you have
Board replacement, squeak repair, water damage, gap filling, and color-matched stain. Targeted repairs that save the good wood and skip the work you do not need.
We find the cause behind the damage before we fix it, so the repair holds and the problem does not come back.
What floor repair covers
Floor repair fixes the boards that are damaged without refinishing or replacing the whole floor. A cracked board gets cut out and replaced, a squeak gets secured, a water-damaged area gets dried and repaired, and a gap gets filled. The good wood stays put, and only the problem is addressed. When the damage is isolated, a repair is faster, less invasive, and far less costly than pulling the floor out and starting over.
Repair is different from refinishing, which sands the entire floor for a fresh surface, and from installation, which puts down new hardwood. If only a few boards are bad and the rest of the floor is sound, a repair is usually the right call, and we will tell you that before quoting anything bigger.

The hardwood problems we see most
Hardwood takes a beating over the years. Here are the issues we fix for DFW homeowners, and how each one is repaired.
Damaged and rotten boards
A board cracked from a dropped object, stained by a spill, or rotten from moisture can be cut out and replaced with matching wood instead of redoing the whole floor.
Squeaks and loose boards
Floorboards that shift, rub, or squeak underfoot are secured and re-fastened so the floor settles quietly and feels solid again.
Water damage and cupping
Cupped, crowned, or buckled boards from a leak or spill are dried, repaired, or replaced so the floor lies flat and the damage does not spread.
Gaps and separations
Gaps that open between boards from seasonal movement or settling are filled and blended so the floor reads as one continuous surface.
Color-matched stain
New or repaired boards are stained to match the surrounding floor so the patch disappears into the existing color and sheen.
Not sure whether your floor needs a repair, a full refinish, or a new install? We come out, look at the wood, and tell you straight before we quote anything.
Repair, refinish, or replace: how we decide
The right answer depends on how much wood is damaged, how thick and sound the floor is, and what caused it. We walk through this with you on site so you never pay for more than you need.
What we look for, and what we recommend
- A few boards are damaged, but the rest of the floor is solid
Replace the bad boards, match the stain, and blend the patch. The fastest and least invasive fix.
Repair - The surface is scratched or worn, but the wood is thick and sound
Sanding and refinishing the whole floor restores the color and finish without replacing any boards.
Refinish - Damage is widespread, boards are too thin to sand, or the floor has failed
A new installation is usually the better value than repeated spot repairs.
Replace - Squeaks, loose boards, or gaps with no surface damage
Targeted repairs secure the boards and fill the gaps without touching the finish.
Repair - Localized water damage with dry surrounding boards
Cut out and replace the affected boards, then match the stain to the rest of the floor.
Repair
We never push a bigger job than the floor needs. If a board replacement and a color-matched patch solves it, that is what we quote. If the damage runs deeper, we say so and explain why before you decide.
How a repair works
From the first call to the finished floor, here is what to expect on a repair led by Brock Summerville, founder and lead craftsman.
Free estimate and assessment
Call or fill out the Get a Free Quote form. We come out, find the cause behind the damage, and tell you whether a repair is enough or the floor needs more. You get a written estimate with the scope and price.
Find the cause, not just the symptom
A squeak can mean a loose board or a subfloor issue; cupping can mean a moisture problem underneath. We track the damage to its source so the repair holds and the problem does not come back.
Match the wood
For board replacement, we source wood that matches the species, width, and grade of your existing floor so the patch blends rather than stands out.
Repair and secure
We cut out the damaged boards, re-fasten loose or squeaky ones, fill gaps, and address water-damaged areas, working clean and keeping the dust down.
Color-match the stain
New boards are sanded and stained to match the surrounding floor so the repair disappears into the existing color and sheen.
Cleanup and review
We clean up after the job and walk the repaired floor with you to confirm the patch is flush and the color matches before we leave.

The details that matter on every repair job, led by Brock Summerville, founder and lead craftsman.
Targeted repairs, not whole-floor redo
We fix the boards that need it and leave the good wood alone, so you pay for the repair, not a full refinish you do not need.
We find the cause behind the damage
Squeaks and cupping often have a cause underneath. We track it down so the repair holds and the problem does not return.
Color-matched stain that blends in
Repaired boards are stained to match the surrounding floor so the patch disappears into the existing color and sheen.
Optional dustless sanding
Ask about sanding with a dust-collection system so far less dust spreads through your home during the repair work.
