Hardwood Installation | Dallas-Fort Worth

New hardwood floors, installed the right way

Solid, engineered, and wide-plank hardwood, installed with the method that fits your floor and subfloor. Owner-operated, with free estimates and optional dustless sanding.

We help you choose the right product and walk you through every option at your estimate.

What hardwood installation covers

Installation is putting down brand new hardwood where there was none, or replacing a floor that has come to the end of its life. It starts with the right product for how you live and the right install method for your subfloor, and it ends with a clean, level floor you can move back onto. We handle the measuring, the acclimation, the fastening or gluing, and the finish work so the floor sits right and stays right.

Installation is different from refinishing, which sands the floor you already have. If your existing wood is too thin to sand or the damage runs deep, a new install is usually the better call, and we will tell you that straight at the estimate.

When a new install is the right move

Installation makes sense when there is no hardwood to save, or when you want a different product, width, or look than what is down. Here are the situations we see most often.

Building a new home or addition

New construction or an addition needs hardwood from the ground up, with the product and method matched to the space and subfloor.

Replacing carpet or old flooring

You are pulling up carpet, tile, or an older floor and want real hardwood in its place, installed fresh over the existing subfloor.

Floors too worn to refinish

The existing wood has been sanded too many times, is too thin, or the damage goes too deep, so a new install is the better value.

Upgrading to wide-plank

You want the wider, longer look of wide-plank hardwood and are ready to replace a standard-width floor to get it.

Selling or refreshing a home

You are preparing to sell or just moved in, and new hardwood is one of the highest-impact upgrades for resale and daily use.

Damaged beyond spot repair

Water damage, gaps, or movement have gone past what board replacement can fix, and a full new floor is the sound path.

Not sure whether you need a new install or a refinish? We come out, measure the existing floor, and tell you which makes more sense for your wood and your budget before we quote anything.

Choose the right hardwood and install method

There is no single best floor, only the best fit for your home, your subfloor, and how you live. We walk you through these at your estimate so you decide with the floor in front of you, not from a catalog.

Hardwood types

Solid hardwood

One piece of solid wood top to bottom. Can be sanded and refinished again down the road. Best over a stable, dry wood subfloor above grade.

Engineered hardwood

A real wood wear layer over a stable core. Handles humidity and temperature swings better than solid and can go over concrete, including below grade.

Wide-plank

Wider boards for a more open, modern look. Available in solid or engineered. Shows off the grain and gives a room a cleaner, less busy line.

Install methods

Nail-down

Boards fastened with nails or staples into a wood subfloor. The traditional method for solid hardwood above a wood subfloor.

Glue-down

Boards glued directly to the subfloor. A strong choice over concrete slabs and for some engineered products that call for it.

Floating

Boards click or glue together at the edges and rest on an underlayment, not attached to the subfloor. Works for some engineered and click floors.

The right pairing depends on your subfloor, the product you choose, and the room. We measure, check the subfloor, and match the install method to the floor at your estimate, so you do not pay for the wrong approach.

How a hardwood install works

From the first call to moving your furniture back on, here is what to expect on an installation led by Brock Summerville, founder and lead craftsman.

  1. Free estimate and measure

Call or fill out the Get a Free Quote form. We come out, measure the space, and check the subfloor. You get a written estimate with the scope and price.

  2. Product and method

We walk you through solid, engineered, and wide-plank options and the nail-down, glue-down, or floating method that fits your subfloor. You choose the product before we order it.

  3. Acclimation and prep

Wood needs to acclimate to your home before it goes down. We stage it on site and prep the subfloor so the finished floor sits level and stays stable.

  4. Install and fasten

We install the floor with the right method for your product, keeping boards tight and rows straight, and handling transitions and trim as we go.

  5. Stain and finish

If the product calls for finish on site, we apply your chosen stain and protective finish, from matte to semi-gloss.

  6. Cleanup and review

We clean up after the job and walk the finished floor with you to confirm it sits right and the color and finish look correct before we leave.
